Most schools now have a website, but many do not have adequate legal documentation. This template has been designed to make the creation of terms and conditions for a school website easy. The template includes provisions dealing with copyright in the website, acceptable use of the website and liability in relation to the use of the website.
The copyright provisions set out the basis upon which users may use the website. Under the suggested text, users are permitted to view web pages, cache pages in a web browser, print pages, stream any audio or video and use an website services. They are not however permitted to republish or commercially exploit any material from the website.
The acceptable use provisions set out express restrictions designed to protect the security and integrity of the website. Users are prohibited from using the website in any harmful or illegal manner. In addition, users may be prohibited from scraping the website and using website contact information in connection with any direct marketing activities.
The template assumes that the website does not allow the publication of content by users on the website.
