This legal notice can be adapted for use in - or in relation to - written reports.
The first few sections deal with copyright matters. The template begins with a standard-form copyright notice, specifying the identity of the publisher and the year of first publication of the report. The next section contains licensing terms, which state what a person may and may not do with the report. Supplemental provisions cover digital rights management and the reporting process to be followed in relation to infringing copies of the report.
The second half of the notice contains provisions relating to liability. First, there is a "no advice" disclaimer, with particular provisions covering legal, medical and financial information. Next, the document seeks to limit the warranties and representations associated with the report. The publisher does not guarrantee that the report is accurate or complete or that use of the report will lead to any particular outcome. Then come the formal disclaimers of liability, stating the types of liability that will - on the assumption that the disclaimers are enforceable - never be recoverable in relation to the report - for example "business losses".
Finally, there are a pair of boilerplate clauses covering trade marks used in the report and jurisdiction / governing law - although these will not be appropriate or enforceable in all circumstances.
